HOME SWEET HOME

Well I am happy to announce that we are back in touch with technology. David and I are finally settling in to our new home where we had been without cable, phone, and internet for almost a month now. We have been so busy painting and getting our house in order and I must say that it is finally coming along. It looks so different then the day we walked in to it. I can't wait for all of our friends and family to visit with us in our new home. We should have so many things to update you on since we last posted on the blog, but it would be way too much to go back and recap, so lets stick with the basics: David and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary! We ventured out to Rockome Gardens in Illnois for a day, it was nice but we had so many things running through our minds about what needed to be done at the house, that we cut our day trip short and headed back for some more painting. I have been blessed with a great job, and yes it was the one I wanted. My schedule is great and my days go by so quickly, my co-workers have been super nice and are helping me learn all the specifics of the job. David has been working nights at the Staples Distribution Center, there are both positives and negatives about his new job. The actual job has been pretty good for him, and there is a week every month where he has 7 days off in a row, but we just experienced his one week a month where he worked six days in a row, so it seems like we haven't had a whole lot of time together especially with how busy we have been with the house. For those of you who are in town I am having a Tastefully Simple Fall Open House at our new house on October 8, 2007 from 5-9:00 pm, let me know if you are interested and I will get you some more information. I guess that is it in a nutshell. Enjoy looking at our new home!

The Joy of Getting a House..

Well as most of you have heard we were so excited to be getting in to our first home! Well after a course of events we were smart enough to realize we needed to back out of the deal. It took me the longest to come to that conclusion but I did. We have signed the paperwork to be released from the contract and we would ask that you all pray that all parties agree and feel that we have enough cause to be released. When we started to realize that things weren't going as planned we began looking at new homes and to our surprise we have found yet another house that has gotten us very excited. At first glance I would have not been the first to say I'm in love, but when I vision what this house could be a few years down the road after we get a hold of it, I can do nothing but smile. The house is in the south end of Terre Haute and it looks like this area is going to be built up in the near future with the new highway going in and all, so our property value should do nothing but increase, which is great especially for us being first time home buyers. We just made an offer on the house yesterday afternoon, so lets all keep our fingers crossed and pray hard that they accept it, we are suppose to hear back by 6:00 PM. Hopefully this process will go a lot smoother and we will be in a new house soon!

"M" and her new walker

Sweet Cameron

4th of July at the Panos Estate

The Panos Estate

Thanks to David's mom we were able to spend time with the family over the 4th of July in Las Vegas. I could sum up the trip in just a few words: Extremely Hot but there are many other things to talk about as well, such as we all pretty much made the decision to go ahead and move in to the Panos Estate and assume job positions such as "towel boy and spritzer" "baby sitter" "family cook" "lifeguards" and the list goes on, however on July 8 we came to our senses and were back to real life. Our daily schedule looked something like this, eat every couple of hours and when you were not eating you were sure to be in the pool due to the heat. However, there were a few activities that went on outside of the normal daily schedule which were the family email and blogging seminar, a night out on the town and of course the Little Ethel Family Talent Show. I am sure you will see how much fun we had by looking at all of our pictures from the week!

David and I were both surprised to see our brother Mikie! He works on all those west coast fires we hear about and didn't think that he would be able to come. We haven't seen Mikie since November, so it was great to spend some time with him! If only Larry and Aaron could have been there too!
Making Waves
Our night out on the town!
Everyone had seen downtown on several occasions except for me, so we all ventured to the strip one night, mainly just to people watch. I did get to see a water show at the Bellagio and a volcano erupt at Treasure Island. We took a rest room break at Treasure Island where David ended up playing a hand full of quarters in a slot machine...and we won $170!

Cute as can be!
