Christmas 2006

Our first Christmas together as Husband and Wife...

David and I were very excited about this Christmas. We spent many hours decorating our apartment with all of our Christmas bargains from last year. Our apartment was very festive for the Holiday Season.

David and I spent Christmas with my family this year. In the future we hope to spend Christmas here in Indiana and New year's in California with David's family. In order to start some of our own traditions David and I had our own Christmas Dinner here in Carmel on Friday, December 22 and then had Christmas breakfast and opened presents from each other that Saturday morning. Later that Saturday afternoon we headed to Terre Haute to spend Christmas with my family. This year my family ventured out some and played a lot of interactive games. We all had a really good time. Then it was back to Carmel Christmas night to get our apartment ready for all of my family to come visit our place for dinner. After dinner we all went to the Pacer's game, and it was a good thing that none of us required blood transfusions after sitting in the nosebleed section. Yes...top row of Conseco Feildhouse. It was great to have all of my family over at our place.

We hope you enjoy looking at some of our photos from the Christmas season!

A one girl band...

My precious niece Madilyn could be the next musical child in this family. She loves to sing and now she has a new drum, microphone and other musical instruments to back her cute little voice up!

Surprise Surprise...

Something is always in this little one's mouth. Isn't she so cute! My little niece Katelyn loves food and at Christmas time in the Morris Household there is always something to eat!

Multiple uses for this robe...

David's new robe from my parents, also doubled as Darth Vader's cloak. David also got the Bible Experience on CD, which we have both listened too and enjoy very much!

A much needed gift from Mom and Dad

As most of you know I love jewelry! I have acquired so much jewelry over the past couple of years but have had no where to store it which has led to many broken and tangled necklaces. Thanks to mom and dad my jewelry finally has a place to call home.

"Luke I am Your Father"

Next year we will have to remember to save the best gift for last. My nephew Kaden opened a Darth Vader mask right off the bat and needless to say Darth impressions and scene reenactments were witnessed all morning. And we didn't even need a screwdriver or batteries to get it to work... (an inside joke for the Morris family)

Watch out Hannah Montana...Jaelyn Fennell is in the House!

Look at this cute little girl. She's got the look down! Jaelyn is going to give Hannah Montana a run for her money!

Well I guess Thanks is due for this gift too...

I am not sure what my niece Jaelyn is doing, but David is showing off his new toy from his parents. David has been playing with his new MP3 Player ever since we got home. It takes a lot to distract him from this device.

I know Christmas isn't about the gifts but ....

I sure was excited when I opened these! David bought me the greatest tan slippers last year for Christmas. So this year I just had to have some black ones that were really considered shoes. Now I feel okay about wearing them everyday! Much thanks to my Mother In Law, Terri!

David or the Coat?

Well, I can't tell if Sota is more upset about the coat we put on her or the fact that David has his hands on her behind. I guess we got our answer a day later when we found Sota's brand new coat ripped in to 50 pieces. So much for fashion with this pup.

Ready for bed?

Man...this Christmas just wore this little girl out. She was so tired she fell asleep sitting up!

Our little girl Sota....

Sota struck a pose with her edible Christmas Card on Christmas morn at the Davis house!

Annual Christmas Slumber Party with the Vanwey Kids!

Well...Last year at our Christmas Slumber Party with our nieces and nephews we attempted to make what ended up being a poor excuse for a Gingerbread house, so this year we thought that Gingerbread Christmas Trees may work out a little better, and boy did they. We were able to turn this in to a friendly little decorating competition between the boys and the girls and what started with edible icing and candies turned in to anything in the house being fair game. There was glitter, ribbon, tree skirts and I am sure many other things that added some great finishing touches. We let Kim and Keith judge the trees but there was not a named winner. But I do have to say the boys had a pretty good looking tree.

I personally think that the tree skirt alone was enough to win the competition. The boys played it safe they designed the picture right off the box, we used our own creative style! The kids and us also painted a Christmas Angel and a Snowman that we were able to set out for the holidays. We also baked cookies and watched a movie, it was a busy busy night, but we had lots of fun!
